THE TEAM:

Director: Jason Silzer

Musical Director:  Miguel Malaco

Stage Manager:  Ndola Hutton

ABOUT THE SHOW

The Fantasticks is the longest-running musical in the world and with good reason: at the heart of its breathtaking poetry and subtle theatrical sophistication is a purity and simplicity that transcends cultural barriers. The result is a timeless fable of love that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time.

The Fantasticks is a funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart. The narrator, El Gallo, asks the audience to use their imagination and follow him into a world of moonlight and magic. The boy and the girl fall in love, grow apart and finally find their way back to each other after realizing the truth in El Gallo’s words that, “without a hurt, the heart is hollow.”

If there are changes in conflicts during the audition process, please inform the producers, or bring an updated conflict list to the audition and/or call backs.

The call-backs and rehearsal schedule will take into consideration the conflicts identified at time of audition. Adding more conflicts after casting may result in removal from the show.

CALL-BACK AUDITIONS:

Individuals called back will be given a schedule specific to the characters for which they are being considered; this schedule will be communicated to each performer via email. People auditioning should inform the producers, at the time of their first audition, if there is any time on the callback days during which they are unavailable. Please note – though we will try, we may not be able to accommodate all conflicts for call-backs.
