SYNOPSIS
Assorted travellers find themselves thrown together on an expedition to the rose red city of Petra. At the centre of the group are Mrs. Boynton and her three stepchildren who never leave her side. This apparent devotion however is actually a façade for something far more sinister. The children struggle to free themselves from the grasp of a tyrannical woman. This chilling play offers a unique twist on the usual murder mystery.
REQUIREMENTS
Please prepare two 1-2 minute monologues, one comedic, one dramatic. You may also be asked to do a cold-read from the script, so it is best to familiarize yourself with the show. Please bring a copy of your resume and headshot to the audition. Callbacks will consist of scenes from the show, performed in groups. We ask that you be available for the full time period so we have a chance to experiment with different pairings/groupings of actors.
SCRIPT
If you would like to read the play before auditioning, the script is on reserve at the Performing Arts Desk, 5th floor, Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street, and at the Community Desk of the Toronto Public Library, Cedarbrae Branch, at 545 Markham Road in Scarborough.
