Hello Members and Friends of Scarborough Theatre Guild,

You are invited to attend the 2021-2022 Scarborough Theatre Guild Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.

Although we had originally wanted to hold this meeting live, the recent news about the new variants of Omicron and their transmissibility have caused the Board to reconsider, and hold the meeting via Zoom. We hope in this way to best ensure everyone’s safety and indeed we expect a better turn-out, as those who would be hesitant to attend a live meeting can still join in.

The AGM is an opportunity to make your STG membership count. Membership is so much more than paying a mandatory fee when cast in a show or being able to see Theatre Scarborough shows at a discount. You, as a member, have a vested interest in the organization, and in its future. In a sense you are ‘part owner’, and only you can ensure that the group thrives.

Membership Dues for the 2022-23 season can be paid through the Theatre Scarborough website, or by cheque payable to Scarborough Theatre Guild, mailed to the following address:

Scarborough Theatre Guild
Cedar Heights PO Box 55530, 629 Markham Road
Scarborough ON
M1H 2A4

The fee this year is $20 for individuals, $30 for family. Since we are returning as much to normal as possible this upcoming season, your membership fee will once again include free access to any Guild show, depending on availability of seats, and 50% off for up to 4 tickets to the opening night of any Guild, Scarborough Players or Scarborough Music Theatre show.

To register in advance for this meeting, please click on the link below:

After registering, you will be sent a confirmation email containing information about the meeting including the Zoom link to join the AGM. The Zoom link will also have a phone-in option for those who prefer that method.

All the appropriate documents usually available at an in-person AGM will be sent via the STG AGM email address in a pdf format. Approximately two weeks prior to the meeting, the Agenda, and the Minutes of last year’s AGM, including the 2020-21 Financial Report and the President’s Remarks will be sent out. Approximately one week before the AGM, the financial report will be distributed, along with other committee reports.. All of these documents will also be posted on the Theatre Scarborough website. Should you wish to receive these documents by regular mail, please e-mail Len Henderson at, or phone him at (905) 655-3605.

We will also provide information with regard to critical motions that require a vote as well as information about those who wish to stand for Election to the Guild’s Board of Directors.

Election of the Board of Directors
One of the vital activities at the Annual General Meeting is the election of next year’s Board of Directors.
Members of STG’s Board are responsible for governing and supervising the policies and affairs of the Guild, its committees and officers, and carrying out the goals of the organization. They also contribute to Theatre Scarborough policy and direction.

The Board of Directors consists of a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 10 members. The elected Board Members then decide separately after the meeting who will fill which roles on the Board/Executive.

Currently, most members of the 2021-22 Board are willing to stand for re-election. However, there are still vacancies to be filled. This season will have its challenges as we try to return to the pre-pandemic “normal” of 2018-19 and make going to the theatre a great experience once again, for our patrons, casts and crews.

To nominate a member for the Board of Directors, or to indicate your interest in joining the Board, please contact Len Henderson at, or call him at 905 655-3605.

We look forward to seeing you on ZOOM for this important meeting – Wednesday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Please Sign Up Today.

Len Henderson, President
