Scarborough Players reluctantly cancelled the remaining performances of Pride and Prejudice from March 14-21, 2020. We had hoped that if the curve of this pandemic flattened, that we might be able to remount Pride and Prejudice later in the season but that does not seem likely now at all. We are not sure when we will have access to the theatre as The City of Toronto has now cancelled permits until June 30, 2020.
As a result of the City’s decision, Scarborough Players has also made the difficult decision to cancel our May/June production of The Government Inspector. Also the director, cast and team have not been able to rehearse since mid-March and there was no way for them to continue to do so safely. Our plan is to schedule it in another season down the line.
All Patrons who currently have tickets for this production will be contacted by the Box Office. Our Box Office is volunteer run and it may take a little while to reach out to everyone. We thank you in advance for your patience.
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” – Jane Austen
In this delightful adaptation of Jane Austen’s masterpiece, we meet the Bennett Family as they navigate the demands of social status and inheritance while wanting each of their daughters to make the match. Unexpected encounters, misunderstandings, broken hearts, betrayals, and true love above all will ultimately win the day.
Recommended for all ages.
