by Norm Foster

Directed by Katherine Turner

The Story

What do women talk about when men, children or partners are not around? They talk about love, careers, sex, death, family, fate, faith and friendship. The catalyst for these conversations is the untimely death of a friend, Catherine Potter. Three of her best friends – Margot, Tate and Connie – gather for their weekly scheduled round of golf inviting a new friend, Dory who they have met at the funeral. They have decided that playing the round of golf is the best way to honour Catherine. Each member of this foursome is unique and they each hold onto their own version of Catherine. As the 18 holes are played, we get to know Margot, Tate, Connie and Dory. Each woman holds a secret and it takes Dory’s questions as she gets to know Catherine’s city friends to change what would have perhaps been the usual conversations – the usual is challenged and secrets are revealed.

However, this is a story told by Norm Foster. Our Foursome reflecting on their lives, their relationship and friendships is done with great humour and love – there should be much laughter and some tears.
