A suspense thriller in which a blind woman is threatened by three thugs who are convinced something of great value is hidden in her house, and who will stop at nothing to find it. With only her wits and her other senses to help her, she keeps the criminals at bay until the very last climactic scene, when the blackness of night gives her the advantage over her assailants. Lee Remick and Robert Duvall were in the original New York production, and Audrey Hepburn starred in the film version.
